What size are the mats?
31.5 inches square (80 cm) — sized for American mahjong on a standard card table. It covers the table edge to edge with room for four racks, discards in the middle, and the pot.
2mm or 3mm — which should I choose?
Both play identically and both come with the carrying bag. The 2mm is lighter and folds smaller — right for the group that rotates houses. The 3mm adds cushioning and makes tile-shuffling noticeably quieter — right for the permanent table, or for anyone who has ever been shushed mid-shuffle.
How does personalization work?
Personalization is a $30 option on each mat. Choose it on the product page and four name fields appear — one name is set into the border on each side, so everyone sits behind their own — plus an optional line for the group. Up to 18 letters each, and the design adapts gracefully whether you fill one field or all five. Skip the option and the stock design ships as drawn.
We print exactly what you type, so the page echoes your entries back and asks you to check the spelling before you add to cart.
I made a spelling mistake — can I fix it?
Email us the moment you spot it. Production starts quickly — usually within a day — but if your mat hasn’t printed yet, we’ll correct it at no charge. Once a mat has printed with the text exactly as it was entered at checkout, we can’t remake it free, which is why the order page makes you double-check the spelling first.
How long until it arrives?
Most orders arrive 12 to 20 days after you order. Production takes a few days, then the mat ships from our printing partner overseas with tracking, and shipping is included in the price.
US customs is the wild card: parcels usually clear in a day, but one pulled for inspection can sit for a week or more, and tracking goes quiet while it does. If your mat is a gift with a date attached, allow up to four weeks and order well ahead.
What if something is wrong with my mat?
If it arrives misprinted, damaged, or defective — or the wrong design, the wrong size, or personalization that doesn’t match what you ordered — email us photos within 30 days of delivery and we’ll remake it or refund it. No need to ship anything back. The full refund policy is here.
How do I clean and store it?
Spot-clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then air dry flat. Don’t machine-wash or iron it. Fold along the original creases and keep it in its bag between games — the crease lines relax flat within a few minutes on the table.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Not yet — US addresses only for now, including shipping a gift straight to your recipient with a note card and no prices on the packing slip.
