Why these five
Every design on our mats is a real piece of Chinese symbolism — a motif with centuries of use behind it, chosen because it says something true about a table of four people who keep showing up for each other.
We tell you what each one means, where it comes from, and why it belongs under your tiles. A beautiful pattern is decoration. A pattern you can explain is a story your table gets to keep.
The making
Printed one at a time
Each mat is printed to order in our studio, one at a time, on a dense non-slip cloth that keeps tiles quiet and cards flat. Dye-sublimation sets the design into the fibre itself, so it will not peel or crack — it fades only the way good fabric fades, slowly and evenly.
We inspect every mat by hand before it ships: edges, registration, and the personalization spelled against your order. It leaves folded, with a carrying bag, four days after you order it.
